Hello,

we are running spamassassin now for a few days.
What makes me wonder is, that monitoring mailgraph in the morning it
shows more mails detected as spam as in the evening (day graphs). The
amount shown is decreasing during the day.

How can that be?

Thanks!

If the majority of spam to your server arrives from Asia then it makes
perfect sense. Asia is 5 to 9 hours ahead of you for example so it just
happens to be quit on other locations around the world.

I have not done any demographics on pure spam yet. But the weekly stats on
rejected messages + spam has a top score like:

[US] United States: 1269
[KR] Korea, Republic of: 922
[] : 713
[CN] China: 705
[RO] Romania: 369
[BR] Brazil: 353
[PL] Poland: 344
[ES] Spain: 280
[FR] France: 274
[DE] Germany: 234
[TH] Thailand: 228
[IN] India: 227
[TW] Taiwan: 213

The 3rd line is a combination of various entries through my backup
servers.

The perl script generating this report can be downloaded from

Describing this one and some other scripts I wrote is on my mile long
to-do list. Don't go pushing me. Just whipe my windows and vacume my floor
if you are in a hurry ;-)

Hi all

I have recently been forced to install a greylist tool, actually
postgrey, our system is now amavisd-new - clamav and postfix +
postgrey - i have just installed mailgraph and i am very happy with
the results.

I find however i think i might like to differentiate between the full
refusals and items greylisted, is it possible to do this?
